IMMUNOHEMOTHERAPY SERVICE

Mission of the Service

• Conduct coagulation, blood dyscrasias and evaluation of the homologous donor consultations;
• Perform treatments such as: Phlebotomies, endovenous iron, plasmapheresis therapy, transfusions of blood components through immunohaemotherapy sessions/Day Hospital
• Conduct all the transfusion practice procedures from donation or acquisition of blood components to its administration, including its analysis and pre-transfusion testing;
• Perform the internal/external quality control process of the blood components, procedures and reagents in the pre-transfusion testing;
• Motivate employees, delegating responsibilities at different levels of competence and promoting professional training;
• Participate in pre- and post-graduate education;
• Participate in research projects

Blood Bank:
Preparation and delivery of blood derivative units; transfusional haemovigilance

• Coagulation (Face to face/Decentralised/Home)
• Coagulation/New Anti-thrombotics;
• Donor Support Consultations;
• Immunohaemotherapy/Pregnancy Consultations;
• Immunohaemotherapy/Blood Dyscrasias;
• Day hospital treatments undertaken at the Immunohaemotherapy Service
