ANAESTHESIOLOGY SERVICE
The anaesthetic activity of the Service is determined by the small number of doctors who integrate it.
Consequently, its activity is essentially of health care provision:
Anaesthesia for programmed surgery
Conventional - 4 rooms in the central unit
Outpatients - 2 rooms in the outpatient unit
Anaesthesia in locations far from the Operating Room
Gastroenterology/Endoscopy Unit
Imaging
Preoperative medicine
All patients proposed for programmed surgery shall be subject to a pre-evaluation in an-Anaesthesiology Consultation.

STOMATOLOGY SERVICE
Mission
The Stomatology Service treats diseases of the mouth, teeth, salivary glands and temporomandibular joint of patients with chronic/acute conditions or patients who are hospitalised in any of the Hospital Services.
It offers specific consultations for patients with Infectious Diseases (HIV +, hepatitis, pulmonary tuberculosis). It performs two surgeries on average, on a weekly basis, in the Central Operating Room and several surgeries in the Outpatient Surgery Room. It also collaborates with Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the HCCB in the Operating Room. It is incorporated into the Outpatient Consultation Service during the week.
OPHTHALMOLOGY SERVICE
The Ophthalmology Service of the CBHC is governed by the principle of providing the best eye health care to people in its catchment area. In hospitalisation, in the unit of "Surgical Specialties", we all share services with the other specialties integrated there.
History
The Ophthalmology Service, in the strict sense of the term, started with the opening of the Covilhã Hospital - in 2000. Until then, there was only a very weak Outpatient Consultation, which was practically limited to refractive consultation.
