CLINICAL TRIALS OFFICE

Mission

The mission of the Clinical Trials Office is to promote, coordinate and support the performance of clinical trials at the Cova da Beira Hospital Centre.

Objectives

• Establish contact with the Promoters, Monitors and Regulatory Authorities of Clinical Trials
• Assess the feasibility of the Clinical Trials proposed at CHUCB
• Follow-up the submission and approval process of the Clinical Trials by the Board of Directors
• Coordinate the planning and performance of the Clinical Trials at CHUCB
• Support the Researchers and Research Teams of CHUCB

Partnerships

PtCRIN - Portuguese Network of Infrastructures for Clinical Trials intends to develop and organise at a national level the network of clinical research centres and of specific infrastructures, to provide services to clinicians that intend to develop academic clinical trials.

The partnership with PtCRIN enables the Cova da Beira Hospital Centre to benefit from:

• Financing of central resources shared with other members of the network;
• Sharing of infrastructures and human resources with other members of the network;
• Direct contact with ECRIN – European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network, to promote academic clinical trials in drugs, medical devices and nutrition.
