ANATOMICAL PATHOLOGY SERVICE
Mission
Undertake morphological (histological, cytological and immunocytochemistry) analysis of organs, tissues and cells, with a view to diagnosing lesions, complementing the clinical diagnosis and enabling the administration of a medical and/or surgical therapy, the definition of a prognosis, as well as the prevention of diseases:
Carry out reliable exams, on a timely basis, based on permanent technical updating and high quality standards; Participation in research projects.
Opening hours: from Monday to Friday, from 08h00 to 17h00.
Analyses reception hours: from Monday to Friday, from 09h00 to 16h00.

Mission of the Service
Conduct coagulation, blood dyscrasias and evaluation of the homologous donor consultations; Perform treatments such as: Phlebotomies, endovenous iron, plasmapheresis therapy, transfusions of blood components through immunohaemotherapy sessions/Day Hospital Conduct all the transfusion practice procedures from donation or acquisition of blood components to its administration, including its analysis and pre-transfusion testing; Perform the internal/external quality control process of the blood components, procedures and reagents in the pre-transfusion testing; Motivate employees, delegating responsibilities at different levels of competence and promoting professional training; Participate in pre- and post-graduate education; Participate in research projectsHistory of the Service-Quality Policy
ISOPHYSICAL MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION SERVICES
Mission
The mission of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service is the provision of direct health care required for the treatment and rehabilitation of the patient, and ensuring through appropriate methods and techniques the treatment and rehabilitation of the patient, in order to facilitate his/her integration into the social, family and professional environment.
Rehabilitate the patient with the objective of reaching the maximum functionality and quality of life, ensuring the quality, rigour and humanisation of health care.

History
The Clinical Pathology Service of the Cova da Beira Hospital Centre began its activity in the Santa Casa da Misericórdia Hospital, which later became known as the Hospital of the District of Covilhã. In January 2000, this Service occupied the new facilities of the new Pêro da Covilhã Hospital and also integrated the Clinical Pathology Service of the Fundão Hospital. Both these hospitals are now part of the Cova da Beira Hospital Centre (CHCB).
